We've had a quick update from Jonathan Little of Little Labs about how some of their products have been used on recent major projects:
According to SOS magazine, the Little Labs UA VOG analog bass resonance tool was used on the kick drum and bass for mixing Pharrell Williams smash worldwide #1 hit “HAPPY”! This super catchy tune was engineered all in the box by the great Leslie Brathwaite out of Miami Florida. If the Plug in of the VOG can help create such a massive hit, imagine what the superior hardware can do!
Another worldwide #1 record, but of a much different genre, Black Sabbath’s “13” utilized the Little Labs PCP instrument distro to track all of the great rif master, Tony Iommi's guitars! Above are a couple pics of Tony with his PCP in the studio. Keep in mind the PCP instrument distro is the perfect companion to the PEPPER, for the ultimate in guitar tracking and re-amping guitars, and or any instrument or track!
Well to cool you all off, another Little Labs #1, the soundtrack to "Frozen" continues to chill for a 12th week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200! Recorded by engineer David Boucher with all the vocals recorded at Hollywood’s legendary Sunset Sound. David Boucher has a long history working with legends Bob Clearmountain, and producer Mitchell Froom. David was asked to engineer the Frozen session after working with Froom on the Disney movie, The Princess and the Frog. As David said in his SOS interview about recording the Frozen soundtrack, "The female singers' mics went into my Little Labs Lmnopres mic pres and vintage Urei LA3A compressors, and for the guys I used Sunset Sound's API mic pres and the LA2A or LA3A.” Nice! David Boucher, what a cool guy!
