Subwoofers Sub20, Sub24, and Sub2100
ADAM re-fathoms the bass range
ADAM Professional Audio has managed to firmly establish themselves as a specialist manufacturer of state-of-the-art, no compromise studio monitors during the last years. Now, the Berlin (Germany) based company presents their new subwoofers Sub20, Sub24, and Sub2100.
Both the Sub20 and the Sub24 are meant to reproduce LFE or other low frequency signals above 25Hz/22Hz in medium sized or larger control rooms and impress by a completely new alignment: There are2 long throw 12" drivers that are mounted at the opposite sides of the cabinet, so the forces applied consequently compensate themselves. Therefore the cabinet stays much quieter than with conventional arrays and distortion is drastically reduced, resulting in a much-improved clarity of the signal especially at higher levels.
For the special requirements of large control rooms and studios, ADAM has developed the Sub2100. It combines an enormous 21" woofer and an amplifier capable of 1000 W continuous power housed in a bass-reflex enclosure tuned for reproducing frequencies down to 20 Hz. The massive power and the extremely high efficiency (99 dB/W/m) enable this system to produce linear SPL peaks of ≥128 dB without any significant compression. Essential to the volume of this woofer is the gigantic voice coil, with its 152 mm (the largest worldwide). So, the Sub2100 reaches highest SPL in the lowest frequencies perceivable by the human ear. This means nothing less but a new subwoofer benchmark.
"We wanted to do something about the never ending demand for more low end in popular music or film scores. With the S7A Mk2 we offer the right monitor for these purposes, the Sub2100 is the perfect subwoofer to accomplish such no-compromise reproduction systems." Klaus Heinz, co-founder and chief designer
